At Thom Thatchers, we specialise in creating roofs, structures, and outdoor living spaces that combine lasting strength with timeless style. From modern roofing solutions to custom wooden features and essential maintenance, we deliver craftsmanship that enhances both the beauty and value of your property.
Our roofing expertise includes synthetic thatch, offering the charm of traditional thatching with the durability of modern technology, and tiles & onduline roofing, providing secure, energy-efficient protection in a range of finishes. Whether you’re looking for natural elegance or practical strength, we ensure professional installation for roofs that last.
To transform your outdoor living, we design and build wooden decks, perfect for entertaining or relaxing, and pergolas, adding shade, character, and comfort to any space. Our team also specialises in custom wooden stairs and railings, blending safety with craftsmanship to complement your home’s style—indoors or outdoors.
Beyond new builds, we provide building repairs and maintenance, ensuring your property remains secure, functional, and well cared for year after year. From small fixes to larger restorations, we help you protect your investment with reliable service and attention to detail.
With Thom Thatchers, every project is built on quality, durability, and design excellence—whether it’s a roof over your head, a deck beneath your feet, or the finishing touches that make your property truly stand out.
Synthetic Thatch & Roofing
Synthetic thatch offers the natural beauty of traditional thatching with the added benefits of modern technology. Designed to replicate the look of real thatch, it is weather-resistant, fire-retardant, and requires little to no maintenance. Unlike natural thatch, it won’t rot, fade, or attract pests, making it a durable and cost-effective roofing solution. Perfect for homes, lodges, entertainment areas, and pergolas, synthetic thatch combines style with long-lasting performance. At Thom Thatchers, we provide expert installation to ensure your roof is both functional and visually stunning, giving you peace of mind while enhancing the character of your property.
Tiles & Onduline Installation
Tiles and onduline roofing provide strength, style, and protection for your home or business. Tile roofs add a timeless aesthetic, available in a range of colours and finishes to suit any design. Onduline sheets, on the other hand, are lightweight, eco-friendly, and highly durable against South Africa’s changing weather. Both options are low-maintenance and energy-efficient, making them ideal for long-term value. At Thom Thatchers, our team ensures professional installation with attention to detail, giving you a roof that not only looks beautiful but also provides lasting security and comfort for your property.
Wooden Decks
A wooden deck transforms your outdoor space into a stylish and functional extension of your home. Perfect for entertaining, braais, or simply relaxing in the sunshine, decks add value and lifestyle appeal to any property. Using high-quality, treated timber, Thom Thatchers designs and builds decks that withstand coastal weather conditions while retaining their natural beauty. Whether you need a small patio deck or a large entertainment area, we customise every project to suit your space and budget. Our craftsmanship ensures safety, durability, and timeless elegance—making your outdoor living experience as enjoyable as the views around you.
Wooden Stairs & Railings
Wooden stairs and railings add warmth, character, and functionality to your property, both indoors and outdoors. Crafted from durable timber, they provide a natural finish that complements any architectural style while enhancing safety and accessibility. At Thom Thatchers, we specialise in designing and installing custom wooden stairs and railings that fit seamlessly into your space. From elegant indoor staircases to weather-resistant outdoor steps, our expert team ensures strength, stability, and attention to detail. Whether you’re upgrading your home or completing a new build, we deliver beautiful results that stand the test of time.
Pergolas
A pergola is the perfect way to create a shaded, stylish outdoor retreat. Designed to suit your garden, patio, or entertainment area, pergolas provide both function and elegance. Whether you’re looking for a cool spot to relax, a framework for climbing plants, or a statement feature for your home, Thom Thatchers builds custom wooden pergolas to match your lifestyle. Using durable, high-quality materials, we ensure every structure is sturdy, weather-resistant, and beautifully finished. A pergola not only enhances your outdoor living but also adds value and charm to your property, making it a long-term investment in comfort and design.
